Delete Your Account - Maths-Mama-Edtech

This page explains how to delete your Maths Mama account and the personal information in it, what is deleted, and what we are required to keep. Maths Mama is run by Maths Mama Edtech, India. For how we handle information in general, see our Privacy Policy.

Option 1: Delete your account in the app

This is the fastest way. It takes effect immediately.

Open the Maths Mama app and log in.
Go to Profile.
Tap Delete account at the bottom of the screen.
Read the message, type DELETE in the box (capital letters), and tap Delete my account.

You will be signed out and taken to the login screen with the message "Your account has been deleted." This cannot be undone.

Option 2: Ask us by email

If you cannot open the app, for example because you uninstalled it or lost your phone, email us:

From: the email address you registered with (so that we know the request is from you)
Subject: Delete my account

We will delete your account within 7 days and confirm by email when it is done.

What is deleted

When your account is deleted, we permanently delete:

Your profile: your name, email address and phone number are removed. The account itself is kept only as an empty record called "Deleted user" and can no longer be used to log in.
Your tests: all your test attempts, saved answers and results.
Your doubts: every doubt you asked, with all messages and replies in it and the photos you attached.
Your login information: login codes, login sessions and saved device sign-ins. You are signed out on every device straight away.
Your notification settings: we stop sending notifications to your account.
Your meeting invitations: invitations to parent-teacher meetings.

What is kept, and for how long

What we keep	Why	How long
Course-access and accounting records: the course, the dates and any reference our team recorded. These no longer contain your name, email address or phone number, and are linked only to an internal account number.	We must keep accounting and tax records.	For as long as Indian accounting and tax law requires. After that they are deleted.
A short security note that an account was deleted, with the internal account number and the time, but no name, email address or phone number.	To keep a record that the deletion happened and to protect against misuse.	Rotated automatically along with our technical logs.
A one-way, keyed fingerprint of your email address and phone number. It cannot be turned back into them.	So the same email address or phone number cannot be used to sign up again and misuse free trials.	Kept so that the block keeps working. To use your email or phone again, email us.

We keep nothing else that identifies you. Your name, email address and phone number are not kept in the records above or anywhere else in readable form.

After deletion

The same email address or phone number cannot be used to sign up again, because we keep a one-way fingerprint of them (see above). If you want to use them again, email us.
Deleting your account removes your access to all your courses. If you want to talk about that first, please contact us before you delete.
Deleting the app from your phone does not delete your account. Please use one of the options above.
